New York Yankees T-shirt quilt

I know. I know. (Insert eye roll) Another t-shirt quilt. In my defense this one was a gift for a very good friend, who (obviously) is a NY Yankees baseball fan.

All but two of the shirts were thrifted. The shirt in the middle is around 20 years old and was "donated" to the cause.
I kept the design simple with bold stripes on the front and then smaller stripes on the back with the second "donated" t-shirt. Finished with official licensed NY Yankees fabric, and grey and white striped binding.

The finished size was roughly 60 inches by 72 inches.

Lil' Eagles NFL quilt

Well, okay. I made another one. They're a little bit addicting to make, if I am being honest.

Since I am stuck in Delaware right now, obviously there is an abundance of Eagles team gear.

There is something that I really like about the grey/white/green color. The back has a simple team logo fabric. I made the stripes a little wider on this quilt, which adds a little more length to the overall size.
It's baby/toddler sized. Perfect for the littlest fan. Or maybe even a wall hanging for the man cave ?

Lil' Patriots quilt

I think I mentioned before about how much I love making t-shirt quilts, but grumble a little bit about all the work and time that goes into making them.

I figured out a way to have the best of both worlds. I can whittle down my up-cycled t-shirt stash and still make the quilts, but not tear my hair out over all the time and materials spent.
For your viewing pleasure. The lil' Patriots quilt. It's no secret that my family loooooooove the New England Patriots. Hello ? Gronkowski ! Brady !
I also love stripes, which if you check out my etsy shop is quite obvious. So, stripes and the Patriots. Perfect combo.
I used a wicked soft blue and grey plaid flannel for the back, grey binding finished it all off. The final size ended up being 41 inches by 51 inches. My "babies" are all grown up, otherwise this one would be staying here with me.

Phillies baseball quilt !

Another t-shirt quilt. MLB Philadelphia Phillies.
I tend to grumble when I start one of these quilts. So much work. So much. But then once I get going I fall in love with each one.
T-shirts are all thrifted. I am picky. No stains, no holes or rips, no stretched out shirts. You get the idea.
This one was fun. I tried a "shadow box" pattern. LOVE IT. Using it again for sure.
The back of the quilt has a buffalo check flannel pattern. Gives it a little more weight, paired with softness. Always a win-win. I stuck two players from the 2015 roster on the back too. 61 inches by 61 inches

Finally.

Well I finally got around to opening an etsy shop. I've been talking about it for years and years.
Slowly been working through my pile of quilts to finish.
I plan on adding some t-shirt quilts here soon too. Those are always popular.
I just don't want to lose sight of what makes quilting enjoyable for me. So as of right now my etsy will be open until mid-to-late June. Closed for the summer and then re-opening again in the fall.
Feel free to browse. Thanks for looking.

New England Patriots T-shirt Quilt

This one was my final finish for 2014. I literally was finishing the binding at 7:00pm on New Years Eve. It took me about 2 years of stalking local Goodwill and Salvation Army stores in order to collect enough shirts. There was no way in hell my husband (or boys) would give up any of their own.

My favorite shirt is of course, GRONK ! I went out on a limb and tried the alternating striped background and found that I really liked it, and plan on using it again and again.

The finished size is 56" by 81" and I used a NFL approved Patriots fabric for the backing (found while on Christmas vacation in Connecticut)
